The DL 40 decentralised domestic ventilation unit with push-pull technology

A good indoor climate with low energy costs: controlled domestic ventilation systems are the right choice for new builds and renovations.
The advantage of a decentralised ventilation system is that it takes up little space and is easy to install.

The DL 40 is ideal for retrofitting in renovation projects. Controlled domestic ventilation transports excess moisture to the outside and thus protects the building fabric.

Ventilation in new builds ensures a defined air exchange. Without opening the windows, sufficient outside air circulates through the house. The fresh air supplies the building with oxygen and creates a hygienic and cosy environment.

- Controlled domestic ventilation with the DL 40 improves the air quality, filters dust, pollen, pollen or insects out of the air, transports excess moisture to the outside and thus protects the building fabric. The integrated automatic temperature control also utilises the cold night air to cool down overheated rooms in summer.

- Operation is possible from 11.0 dB(A), making it one of the quietest single-room ventilation units.

- The integrated ceramic heat exchanger enables up to 99 % heat recovery (transfer of the heat contained in the extract air to the supply air). This saves heating costs and protects the environment. There are also attractive funding programmes for ventilation systems with heat recovery.

- Clever functions such as a sleep timer with pause function, cross ventilation or automatic night cooling can be individually configured. Up to six devices are controlled via the compact wall-mounted control panel.

Design

Thanks to the modern, minimalist design, the ventilation unit blends harmoniously into the living environment both in the living room and on the external façade.

- two outer bonnet variants: powder-coated metal (white or stainless steel coloured)

- two interior panels: powder-coated metal (white: fixed or hinged)

Planning

The DL 40 is installed in pairs. Two constantly corresponding devices ventilate and extract air: While one ensures the removal of stale air, the other ensures that fresh air flows in, for up to 40 m³ of air exchange per hour. The air volume flow changes every 70 seconds. The DL 40 is ideal for rooms up to 15 m². Depending on the room size, the ventilation units are installed either as a pair in a larger room or in two neighbouring rooms.

Planning can be customised and tailored to suit the use of the rooms. For example, only individual rooms can be equipped with ventilation in pairs.

When planning, a distinction is made between supply air and exhaust air rooms. Living rooms, studies or bedrooms are supply air rooms, while kitchens, bathrooms and toilets are classic exhaust air rooms.

1. The DL 40 is installed in pairs. For rooms
< 15m², two rooms are always coupled together.

2. purely exhaust air rooms, such as bathrooms, are ventilated with an independent bathroom room fan. A combination with DL 40 is possible.

3. If exhaust air rooms, such as a kitchen, are to be ventilated with the DL 40, two fans are usually installed in the room.

4. for rooms > 15 m², at least two fans are required in the room.

Simple, quick and flexible installation: The DL 40 is easily installed in the external wall. The individual devices can be positioned flexibly. Thanks to the extensive range of accessories, installation can be completed in just under two hours. Core drill holes with a diameter of just 160 to 200 mm are required for the wall duct, which can be drilled using standard drill bits. In new builds, the rectangular wall sleeve can simply be bricked in. The thermally decoupled shell construction sets are available with an integrated gradient and can be quickly and easily installed in the wall. In addition, only a 230 V power connection is required for operation. The wall thickness should be at least 26 cm and max. 100 cm.

The big advantage of the DL 40: If several devices are installed in a building, they can be configured in advance using software and then put into operation on the construction site without delay.

Operation

The functions can be clearly seen and set on the wall control panel: Cross ventilation, heat maintenance, power up, power down and two status displays.

Before installation, the compact control can be programmed using the USB service interface. This is done via an intuitive app that can be operated on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. One controller can control a maximum of six ventilation units, but it can be expanded.

FAQs

Yes, to ensure air exchange. It also reduces the rate at which the building heats up. The process works in the opposite direction, i.e. the heat exchanger slightly reduces the temperature of the incoming air.

There is a cross ventilation function for the night. This can be activated at night to reduce the temperature. The programme runs for 8 hours and then switches off again.

No, the fans are energy-optimised and have only a low power consumption; furthermore, the energy savings through the heat recovery system are approx. 8 times higher than with window ventilation.

The system has a sleep timer that deactivates the system for 2 hours (to fall asleep) and then switches it on again.
