In the case of the VFE, this means above all that the heat storage system is not designed to store heat only at night, but can adapt to the energy suppliers who now have volatile grids due to the generation of electricity from renewable energy sources. The VFE therefore always stores the heat when there is sufficient cheap energy available in the grid - this can occur at night just as easily as during the day in midsummer with electricity suppliers who obtain most of their electricity from photovoltaic systems. In this way, you heat sustainably and environmentally consciously with electricity, adapted to the conditions of natural energy sources.
By the way, VFE is already sustainable during production: we mainly use natural raw materials such as mica schist or the mineral iron oxide to manufacture our modern heat storage units, and the other materials are also one hundred per cent harmless. Mica schist is a mineral that can store heat particularly well and is also used as flooring in addition to heating systems thanks to its beautiful stone look.
The design of the VFE is the icing on the heating cake. In contrast to older
storage heaters, the Quantum impresses with its clear, elegant lines, which match any interior style and transform the storage heater from a necessary appliance into a design element in any room.
Technically speaking, the VFE is the most advanced of all storage heaters: The improved heat retention capacity provides heat even more efficiently. The VFE can also be used flexibly, both in systems with intelligent control concepts and as part of existing systems, as it can also be connected to existing storage heating systems thanks to its backwards-compatible technology. The VFE is also ideal for use in rooms that are rarely used, such as holiday flats, and can be set with the utmost precision.
The advanced technology of the VFE is rounded off with the capacitive operating display, which switches on when approached and switches off again after a short time if it is not being used. This means there is no annoying glow in the dark. Two different display modes are available for operation: In basic mode, you set the target room temperature using the arrow buttons. In "Other settings" mode, you can programme your storage heater: The daily and weekly programme can be set here, as well as holiday settings. You can also activate the function that automatically switches off the storage heater when a window is open in the room.
There is also a special operating mode for installers, who can make system-relevant settings on your VFE and carry out maintenance work and troubleshooting.
The VFE at a glance:
- Heat storage innovation with intelligent, integrated control concepts for use in existing systems and equipped for future requirements
- Sophisticated operating concept for every target group
- Capacitive display with proximity function, display only during operation
- Simple settings on the device
- Integrated room temperature controller with setting option for daily and weekly programmes for comfort and room temperature setback times
- Integrated self-learning automatic charging (target charge level can also be determined in automatic mode depending on room temperature) for systems without centralised charging control
- Full compatibility with old appliance installations and control signals AC (ED systems) and DC signals
- Various versions available (2 - 7 kW connected load) to suit the room size
Further details: - Conventional operation and control can be realised with existing components, making it easy to integrate into replacement systems, with optional connection to external central control and/or room thermostat
- Ideal for refurbishment: backwards-compatible thanks to universal charge controller, which can process AC and DC signals
- Surface powder-coated traffic white (RAL 9016), grille light grey (RAL 7035)
- Full range VFE 20/30/40/50/60/70 with 2/3/4/5/6/7 kW rated power
- Protection class IP21, supply voltage 3/N/PE~400V, 50Hz
Setting options for the VFE (selection) - Weather-controlled charging: The charging quantity is specified by the central control unit depending on the outside temperature in conjunction with the user's presettings.
- Manual reduction of charging: If a central charging control unit is present, the charging quantity can be adjusted manually in 10% increments for rooms where less heat is required, e.g. the bedroom.
- Room-dependent charging: The charging quantity is automatically determined and adjusted depending on the room temperature in conjunction with the user's pre-settings.
- Heat output: The room temperature is regulated as standard via the room temperature controller integrated in the heating appliance. If required, an external room temperature controller can be connected (not included in the scope of delivery). The configuration of both variants is carried out by the installer. The storage heater then emits the heat in such a way that the desired room temperature is kept constant.
- Timer weekly programme: Time-dependent setting of comfort and energy-saving mode. The desired room temperature can be set in comfort mode. In energy-saving mode, the room temperature set for comfort mode is automatically lowered.
- Auxiliary heating (optional): If the stored charge is not sufficient to heat the room to the desired temperature, this accessory provides additional warmth
- Open window detection: The room heater recognises whether an open window is consuming energy unnecessarily. In this case, the appliance automatically switches to frost protection mode.
- Adaptive start: The set room temperature is reached exactly at the start of comfort mode. It also switches back to set-back mode earlier, thus saving energy.
